What is circumcision suture surgery?

Circumcision is mainly a surgery for men. It is mainly because the male foreskin is relatively thick and needs to be adjusted and improved through surgery. Generally, after the surgery, special attention should be paid to personal living habits, such as not eating spicy food, maintaining good hygiene, avoiding sexual intercourse, and taking some anti-inflammatory and cleaning drugs for external wounds, so that it can heal better and help restore health.

Compared with traditional surgery, the main advantages are as follows:

First: Generally, needle and thread suturing is not required. The suture device releases suture staples to sew the incision while applying pressure and cutting. The density of the suture staples is enough to stop bleeding and align the incision. Generally, silk suture is not required.

Second: The operation time is short. Generally, it only takes 5-10 minutes to complete the operation, while traditional operation takes 20-30 minutes. The shortened operation time reduces the patient's pain, tension and anxiety.

Third: less bleeding. Since the suture device releases staples to stop bleeding while cutting, the steps of cutting with scissors and then finding the bleeding point and stopping bleeding in sequence are combined together, so the amount of bleeding is significantly reduced.

Fourth: There is no need to use electric knife for electrocoagulation to stop bleeding during the operation. Traditional circumcision basically uses electric knife. Studies have found that high-frequency electric knife and laser knife during surgery may cause serious postoperative complications. Although the probability of occurrence is extremely low, it is also a risk factor that needs to be vigilant. Stapler circumcision successfully avoids this risk factor.

Fifth: The appearance is neat and beautiful, and the postoperative scar is small. Because traditional surgery requires the use of tissue scissors to manually cut the inner and outer plates of the foreskin, the edges are often not particularly neat, while the stapler ring resection directly uses a circular mold to cut off the excessively long tissue in one go, ensuring the regularity of the edges and the beauty of the shape. The sutures are evenly distributed, the incisions are completely aligned, the healing is better, and the postoperative scar is smaller.

Sixth: The wound heals quickly and has fewer complications. Since the operation is short, there is less bleeding, the tissue damage is relatively small, and the sutures are dense, the risk of postoperative bleeding, infection, and edema is lower than that of traditional surgery. The sutures will gradually fall off after about 7 days, and generally they will fall off completely in 2 to 3 weeks. Only a few patients need to come to the hospital to remove the sutures.

Seventh: One doctor can complete the operation, which is simple and convenient.

However, circumcision with stapler is not without any disadvantages. The following are the disadvantages of this surgical method:

First: The cost is higher than traditional surgery. Traditional surgery (medication + examination + surgery + dressing change after surgery) costs about 1,500 yuan, while stapler circumcision (medication + examination + surgery + dressing change after surgery) costs about 3,000 yuan.

Second: For patients with severe adhesion between the foreskin and glans penis caused by chronic foreskin inflammation; for patients with large swelling or growths on the foreskin and coronal sulcus, traditional surgery should be used.
