Testicular pain in adolescents

Testicular pain in adolescents

Testicular pain in adolescents is very common in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the patient's physical health, but also seriously affects their normal life and study. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the cause and find scientific and effective treatment methods. The causes of testicular pain include orchitis, testicular dysplasia, testicular hyperplasia, ectopic testicles, etc. Patients can make judgments based on their actual situation.

1. Causes of testicular pain in adolescents

1. Orchitis

Testicular swelling, pain, fever, and sometimes chills. Patients with orchitis must seek treatment as soon as possible to avoid "testicular pain".

2. Testicular dysplasia

This disease can be caused by blood supply disorders during the embryonic period or spermatic cord torsion during testicular descent. Cryptorchidism, sexual immaturity and hypopituitarism are also common causes of this disease. Patients with unilateral testicular dysplasia do not need treatment because of compensatory hyperplasia of the contralateral testis, while patients with cryptorchidism should undergo surgical treatment as soon as possible.

3. Testicular hyperplasia

Testicular hyperplasia refers to testicles that are larger than normal, but their hardness and local anatomical relationships are normal. It is often seen when one testicle is absent or underdeveloped, and the other testicle grows in place of the other. Generally, no special treatment is required.

4. Ectopic testicles

When the testicles descend from the inguinal canal, they may not descend into their normal position in the scrotum, causing ectopic testicles. Ectopic testicles are rare, and their clinical significance and treatment principles are generally the same as those of occult testicles. If the diagnosis is clear, surgical treatment should generally be considered, because androgen therapy is generally ineffective. Orchiopexy as early as possible before puberty can usually restore normal testicular function.

5. Cryptorchidism

Normally, the testicles descend into the scrotum during the late development of the fetus in the uterus. However, approximately 3% of full-term male infants and 30% of premature male infants have cryptorchidism (undescended testicles). Most of these infants have testicles that descend into the scrotum within a few months after birth, but approximately 0.8% of male infants still have undescended testicles one year after birth, thus forming cryptorchidism.

2. What is testicular pain?

1. Prostate pain may be accompanied by testicular pain, tenderness, ejaculation pain and other symptoms. You should go to the andrology or urology department for treatment.

2. Necrospermia may be accompanied by symptoms such as spermatogenesis, sperm abnormalities, and macrocephalic sperm. You should go to a reproductive health or andrology department for consultation.

3. Male genital trauma may be accompanied by urinary dysfunction, genital trauma, hematuria and other symptoms. You should go to the reproductive health or trauma department for treatment.

4. Orchitis may be accompanied by symptoms such as, and should be treated by a andrologist.

5. Brucellosis may be accompanied by fever, testicular tenderness, leukocytosis and other symptoms, and should be treated in the infectious disease department or emergency department.
