How to treat prostate catheterization and urinary pain

How to treat prostate catheterization and urinary pain

When treating prostate diseases, if catheterization is required, this will cause adverse stimulation to the urethra, causing urethral pain, causing defecation pain in patients, etc. At this time, you must drink plenty of water. Generally, this symptom will gradually improve. In addition, you can take some anti-inflammatory drugs, take some painkillers, and drink plenty of water, which can promote the excretion of inflammatory body fluids.

Combining Chinese and Western medicine for the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia

1. Oral Chinese medicine, Chinese patent medicine, Western medicine or infusion

First of all, Chinese medicine can only inhibit bacteria, but not kill them. As we all know, the prostate tissue has a special structure, and is surrounded by three layers of dense and hard lipid capsules. It is difficult for drugs to penetrate into the gland to exert their effects. The gland is composed of extremely rich endoplasmic reticulum and septa, and the blood flow is very poor. Clinically, the amount of drugs that enter the prostate through blood circulation such as infusion, injection, and oral medication is very small, and it cannot completely kill bacteria, let alone proliferative tissue. For some patients, symptoms are alleviated or temporarily disappear after taking oral or intravenous medications (patients think they are effective or cured). This is because a tiny amount of medicine temporarily inhibits the bacteria but cannot completely kill the bacteria. After stopping the medication for a period of time, the bacteria become active again and symptoms recur. The patient then starts taking the medication again. Long-term repeated use of the medication will produce drug resistance and damage the liver and kidneys.

2. Antibiotic treatment

It is a common method for treating prostatitis. Due to the special structure of prostate tissue, drugs cannot enter the prostate in large doses, nor can they penetrate the lipid membrane of the prostate epithelium, so the treatment effect is not ideal.

3. Physical therapy

With the help of various factors such as sound, light, electricity, heat, and water, the body's internal factors are regulated to restore normal physiological conditions. The generated thermal effect is used to improve blood circulation and strengthen local tissue nourishment. These physical therapies only play an auxiliary therapeutic role, because bacteria can only be killed by drugs.

4. Chinese medicine treatment

The advantage of traditional Chinese medicine is that it regulates the human body as a whole. It can improve the body's immunity by replenishing qi, strengthening yang, and nourishing the kidneys. It also has the effects of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, unblocking meridians, and improving the metabolic function of organs. However, scientific experiments have shown that the effective chemical components of Chinese medicine only have the effect of inhibiting bacteria, but not killing them, for bacterial prostatitis. Although some patients will experience a reduction or temporary disappearance of prostatitis symptoms after taking Chinese medicine, this is because Chinese medicine has the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, unblocking meridians, and inhibiting bacteria, but it does not completely kill the bacteria in the prostate. After stopping the medicine for a period of time, many patients have bacteria that become active again, and symptoms recur.

5. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is to insert fine needles into the patient's body at certain acupuncture points, and moxibustion is to fumigate the skin with burning moxa at certain acupuncture points, using the stimulation of heat to treat diseases. This treatment method is also only for the treatment of aseptic prostatitis.

6. Injection therapy

A treatment method that directly injects antibiotics into the prostate. Gentamicin, kanamycin, and proteomycin are selected alone or in combination and injected directly into the prostate through the perineum. However, this method is very likely to introduce bacteria to the prostate for a second infection, and it can only temporarily relieve symptoms for prostatitis with early lesions confined to the middle lobe. Because there are extremely rich endoplasmic reticulum in the prostate, drugs cannot be distributed through local extrusion. It can only penetrate into each lobule by following the law of circulation.
