Is it okay to leave prostatitis untreated? What are the dangers?

The impact of prostatitis on men cannot be described in words. Men suffering from prostatitis are very painful. From a physiological or emotional perspective, prostatitis can have a huge impact on men's lives, so much so that many men give up prostate treatment. So, is it okay to leave prostatitis untreated? What are the dangers? Let's take a look at the explanation of this question below.

(1) Weak urination, thin urine stream, and dribbling urine: Due to the obstruction of the enlarged prostate, the patient has to use greater force to overcome the resistance when urinating, resulting in difficulty in urination. The enlarged prostate presses the urethra, causing the urine stream to become thinner. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as interrupted urination and dribbling after urination may also occur.

(2) Hematuria: Blood in the urine is called hematuria, also known as hematuria. Normally, there are no red blood cells in urine. In medicine, after the patient's urine is centrifuged and precipitated, it is examined under a microscope. If there are more than 5 red blood cells in each high-power field of view, it is called hematuria.

(3) Urinary retention: In patients with advanced prostatic hyperplasia, when the obstruction is severe, acute urinary retention may occur due to the inability to excrete urine due to factors such as cold, drinking, holding urine for too long, or infection.

(4) Frequent urination is an early sign of prostatic hyperplasia, especially the increase in nocturnal urination, which is more clinically significant. Generally speaking, the number of nocturnal urinations is often parallel to the degree of prostatic hyperplasia. When an elderly person who used to be unable to get up at night urinates once or twice at night, it often reflects the onset of early obstruction, and when the number of urinations increases from twice a night to 4 to 5 times a night or even more, it indicates the development and aggravation of the disease.
