Tuberculous epididymitis is a very common reproductive disease in men. It brings a lot of inconvenience to patients. Patients will experience epididymal enlargement and scrotal rupture. Severe cases may cause male infertility and require timely treatment. 1. Symptoms of tuberculous epididymitis 1. First of all, the symptoms of tuberculous epididymitis are usually manifested as the presence of exfoliated epithelial cells, white blood cells and a large number of tuberculosis in the epididymal duct, followed by necrosis of the efferent tubules, the formation of granulomas, caseous changes and fibrosis. Some people may also experience thickening and hardening of the vas deferens wall, and thickening and beading. 2. Its symptoms can also be manifested as obvious enlargement of the epididymis! It can adhere to the scrotum, forming a cold abscess, which will then rupture through the scrotal skin. The patient will exude pus and cheesy necrotic tissue, forming a sinus. In severe cases, the patient's epididymis and testicles are unclear, and the vas deferens is thickened. This is called epididymo-orchitis. It can lead to infertility. Therefore, we must prevent the occurrence of this symptom in our lives, and if it occurs, we must give timely treatment! 2. Epididymal tuberculosis causes male infertility (1) In the male reproductive system, the prostate, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, epididymis and testicles can all be affected by tuberculosis, but epididymal tuberculosis is relatively easier to detect. Because male reproductive system tuberculosis often occurs in several organs at the same time, and each of these organs plays an important role in reproductive function, once the disease occurs, it is easy to cause infertility. (2) The epididymis is a microscopic tubular structure that is the place where sperm mature and are stored. It is also the pathway for sperm to enter the vas deferens. When the epididymis is invaded by tuberculosis bacteria, not only does it destroy the internal environment for sperm maturation and storage, reducing sperm activity, but it also causes the appearance of tuberculosis nodules, caseous necrosis, and ulcers, which block the epididymal lumen and prevent sperm from passing through. (3) Over time, epididymal tuberculosis may spread to the vas deferens, causing it to feel uneven and resemble a string of beads. In fact, the lumen of the vas deferens is blocked, preventing sperm from entering the seminal vesicle and ejaculatory duct and being discharged during ejaculation, thus causing infertility. Through the above detailed introduction, now everyone knows the symptoms of tuberculous epididymitis, so we must do early detection and early treatment in our lives! |
