Thyroid examination methods, thyroid examination methods

The thyroid gland is the main endocrine organ of the human body and is very important for people's endocrine health. However, with the increase of social pressure in recent years, more and more people are suffering from thyroid diseases. Therefore, thyroid examination is very necessary. So, what are the methods of thyroid examination at present?

1. Thyroid B-ultrasound examination

1: It can show that the nodules are solid, cystic or mixed lesions. Single solid nodules are more likely to be malignant, and mixed nodules also have the possibility of being malignant. However, pure cystic nodules are less likely to be malignant.

2: Thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology

1: The examination is simple and safe, and is very helpful in distinguishing benign from malignant nodules.

3. Thyroid function test

1: Autonomous toxic nodules are mostly caused by hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism may also occur in the early stage of subacute thyroiditis. Thyroid function in chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis may be normal, hyperactive or decreased. Thyroid nodules caused by other lesions are mostly normal in function.

IV: Thyroid radionuclide scan

1: Nodules are divided into "hot nodules" and "cold nodules" based on their ability to absorb radionuclides.

2: "Hot nodules" are functional autonomous thyroid nodules, and are almost always benign. "Cold nodules" may be cancerous, but multiple "cold nodules" are mostly benign adenomas or nodules. In addition, if there is bleeding or cystic changes in the nodules, they may also appear as "cold nodules".

5. Neck X-ray

1: Small or sand-like calcifications on the nodules may be psammoma bodies of papillary carcinoma. Large and irregular calcifications may be seen in degenerative nodular thyroid or thyroid carcinoma. If infiltration or deformation is seen in the tracheal image, it indicates malignant changes.

6: What are the methods for thyroid examination?

Through the detailed explanation in the above article, I believe you have a certain understanding of the thyroid examination method. Modern scientific research has shown that marine plants and animals such as kelp, seaweed, jellyfish, sea anchovies, sea dragons, as well as marine shellfish and fish are high in iodine. Eating more of these foods is helpful for the thyroid condition. I wish you good health.
