Hiccups and indigestion? These symptoms tell you that you have a lack of stomach acid

Excessive gastric acid is also a disease, and patients often experience symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, and even vomiting. In fact, in life, some people lack gastric acid, which is also a disease. So, what symptoms will appear if there is a lack of gastric acid in life?

Symptoms of Achlorhydria

Hypochlorhydria is common in chronic atrophic gastritis, and is often manifested as upper abdominal discomfort, poor appetite, and indigestion. The main symptoms of hypochlorhydria are indigestion, hiccups, and burning chest pain. Low concentration of gastric acid in gastric juice may be caused by pernicious anemia, tropical fatty diarrhea, and chronic gastritis. When these two conditions occur, gastric juice examination should be performed. Indigestion and diarrhea may also occur due to insufficient gastric acid.

Prevention

1. Keep a cheerful spirit

Mental depression or excessive tension and fatigue can easily cause pyloric sphincter dysfunction, bile reflux and chronic gastritis.

2. Quit smoking and drinking

The harmful ingredients in tobacco can increase gastric acid secretion and produce harmful stimuli to the gastric mucosa. Excessive smoking can cause bile reflux. Excessive drinking or long-term drinking of strong alcohol can cause congestion, edema, and even erosion of the gastric mucosa, and significantly increase the incidence of chronic gastritis. You should quit smoking and drinking.

3. Use with caution or avoid drugs that may damage the gastric mucosa

Long-term abuse of these drugs can damage the gastric mucosa, leading to chronic gastritis and ulcers.

4. Actively treat oropharyngeal infection

Do not swallow sputum, mucus or other bacteria-carrying secretions into the stomach, as this may cause chronic gastritis.

5. Pay attention to your diet

Avoid irritating foods such as overly sour and spicy foods, as well as raw and cold foods that are difficult to digest. Chew slowly when eating to allow the food to mix fully with saliva, which is beneficial to digestion and reduces stomach irritation. Eat a regular, quantitative, nutritious diet, and eat more foods rich in vitamins A, B, and C. Avoid strong tea, strong coffee, and other irritating drinks.
