What are the causes of allergies in summer? Can cosmetics also cause allergies?

In the hot summer, in addition to the heat, some people also suffer from allergies. Because the temperature is relatively high in summer, many microorganisms and bacteria are particularly active. So what are the causes of summer allergies?

Allergy to jewelry

Many patients who develop contact dermatitis in summer are caused by wearing metal necklaces, while others are caused by wearing bracelets, anklets, and earrings. These people have allergic symptoms where the jewelry touches the skin, and some people may have systemic allergic reactions, first with redness and swelling of the skin, followed by small papules, blisters, and even itching all over the body.

Food Allergies

There are many kinds of food in summer, some of which are factors that induce allergies, such as fish, shrimp, crab, etc. These foods are prone to cause skin redness, rashes, itching, wheals, etc. In addition, food additives such as seasonings, pigments, preservatives, etc. can also cause allergies.

UV allergy

After exposure to the sun, red spots and blisters will appear on the exposed skin of the neck, face, arms, shoulders and back, which will cause unbearable itching and burning pain. After a few days, the red spots and edema will subside, followed by scaling and flaking, and temporary pigmentation. This process is an acute injury reaction of the skin under strong sunlight. Repeated sunburn will make the skin sensitive to light and produce photosensitivity reaction.

Allergy to cosmetics and chemical paints

In a newly renovated house, paint, furniture, chemical coatings, etc. contain formaldehyde. Drinking, smoking, alcohol and nicotine (causing local vasodilation) can also easily induce allergies.

Temperature and humidity changes Many white-collar workers sit in the office to work every day. The moisture of the skin is sucked away by the air conditioner, causing serious lack of moisture in the skin's stratum corneum, disordered skin circulation, and facial redness or red blood streaks. The huge temperature difference between indoors and outdoors can also cause skin allergies.
