How to treat gastrointestinal cold? Here are three tips for you

Gastrointestinal colds usually present with clinical symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. After contracting a gastrointestinal cold, you can also take the following three methods to treat it.

1. Western medicine

For ideal intestinal effects, ciprofloxacin and lijunza can be used. If there is a concurrent viral infection, ribavirin and chloramphenicol hydrochloride can be used. For fever, acetaminophen can be used. If the condition is severe and causes gastric spasm, dexamethasone can be used for emergency treatment.

2. Chinese medicine

Huoxiang Zhengqi Tablets and Huoxiang Zhengqi Water are more effective. For children with gastrointestinal colds, in addition to taking cold medicines, they should also take some Chinese medicines that can help digestion and relieve stagnation, such as Huoxiang Zhengqi Pills, Jiawei Baohe Pills, Zhupo Houzao Powder, etc. If the child has severe abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and vomiting, he can first take Simotang Oral Liquid to stop vomiting and digestion, and then take other medicines about half an hour later, which will have a better effect.

Pay attention to rest: The treatment of gastrointestinal cold mainly focuses on rest. On the one hand, patients should rest more to reduce physical consumption and strengthen the body's ability to fight the disease. On the other hand, the gastrointestinal tract should be given sufficient rest. Reducing the burden on the stomach and intestines is to restore the digestive function earlier, and then increase the amount of food intake. Otherwise, it will only increase the burden on the stomach and intestines, and over time it will become chronic gastroenteritis.

3. Food therapy

Normally, dieting for about a week will not cause nutritional deficiencies. When vomiting is more obvious in the early stage, appropriate intravenous fluids can be given, and the rest is treated the same as a cold. You can also learn from the experience of some patients: starvation therapy should be used appropriately, but more water should be added. It is best to give the patient more salt and sugar water, at least 500 ml per day. In addition, food treatment and prevention can also be used. Ginger is warm in nature, so try to eat it raw and avoid frying.
