The efficacy and function of Atractylodes lancea root

1. Nutritional value

Amaranthus root contains protein, carbohydrates, calcium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin C, etc., especially high in calcium. Every 100g of amaranth root contains about 100 mg of calcium. Red amaranth root also contains potassium, magnesium, sodium, and chloride. Amaranth root has a astringent and antidiarrheal effect.

2. Medicinal value

Treatment of urethritis: 50 grams of amaranth root and 50 grams of fresh plantain can be decocted in water. It can also be used for cervicitis.

Coldness in the genitals: Take an appropriate amount of amaranth roots, mash them and drink the resulting drink.

Blood in stool: Cut off the root of wild amaranth from the top to the part without branches and leaves (about 25 cm long) and chop it into pieces (about three pounds). Then add about half a pound of amaranth roots to three pounds of water and boil until about one pound of soup is left. Pour it out and drink it.

Traumatic injuries: Dry the roots of Atractylodes macrocephala, burn them to preserve their properties, grind them into powder, mix with white wine, and apply to the affected area.

Diphtheria: Grind the roots of red amaranth over fire (or add a little borneol) and blow it into the throat.

Toothache: Take an appropriate amount of Atractylodes root, burn it until it is soft, grind it into powder, and rub it on the teeth.

For treating gastric and duodenal ulcer bleeding: decoct 1-2 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala root in water and take twice.

Rosacea: Take equal parts of Amaranthus root or stem and bamboo shoot shell, calcine them into ash, add appropriate amount of borneol, grind into powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply to the affected area.

After understanding the effects and functions of amaranth root, we should also understand the taboos of eating amaranth root: amaranth root is cold and laxative. People with weak spleen and stomach and chronic diarrhea should not eat it.
