Does dry eyes mean liver problems? Be careful, it may be caused by insufficient liver blood.

In daily life, many people have experienced dry eyes. People generally believe that this is related to poor liver function. So, does dry eyes mean there is something wrong with the liver?

1. Dry eyes are caused by insufficient liver blood

As social competition intensifies, people use their eyes more and more frequently, and more and more people are suffering from visual fatigue. Visual fatigue refers to symptoms such as blurred vision, eye swelling, dry eyes, burning pain, eye and eye socket pain, as well as general discomfort such as headache, nausea, and fatigue after continuous close viewing. If you often look at a computer or a book, excessive use of your eyes will consume liver blood.

2. Red eyes with bloodshot eyes and blurred vision are manifestations of liver fire

Liver fire is mainly caused by irregular lifestyle, negative emotions, or excessive smoking and drinking. The liver meridian runs through the head, ears, and chest, so dizziness, tinnitus, and chest pain occur. At the same time, Chinese medicine says that "the liver governs the eyes", so liver fire often causes eye symptoms, such as red eyes, dry eyes, and excessive eye secretions. In addition, "liver fire" can also cause dry mouth, bitter mouth, bad breath, tossing and turning during sleep, easy awakening, stuffy body, etc.

3. Yellow sclera is a symptom of hepatitis

"Scleral yellowing" is an important basis for diagnosing liver diseases. Hepatitis A and acute hepatitis B almost always have varying degrees of "scleral yellowing". If corneal pigment rings appear, this is the main feature of patients with hepatolenticular degeneration. According to statistics, the hereditary incidence of this disease can account for 90% of patients with this disease. With the naked eye, a yellow-green, blue-green or brown-yellow ring can be seen around the cornea with an edge width of about 2 to 3 mm.
