To judge renal insufficiency, four major diagnostic criteria must be mastered!

According to experts, renal insufficiency is clinically divided into chronic and acute types, and this type of disease generally has four stages, and each stage has different effects on patients. If it is not treated in time, it is likely to cause uremia. So, what are the diagnostic indicators of renal insufficiency?

1. Serum creatinine:

This is an important indicator of human health. Creatinine is a waste product produced by human muscles. Since creatinine is almost entirely excreted by the kidneys and is rarely affected by food, if the creatinine concentration in the blood increases, it means that the kidney's ability to eliminate waste products has decreased.

2. Urine creatinine:

Normally, creatinine in urine comes mainly from the blood. After being filtered by the glomeruli, human blood creatinine is excreted from the body with urine. The renal tubules basically do not absorb it and secrete very little. In renal failure, the kidney units are damaged and the kidney's ability to excrete urinary creatinine is reduced.

3. Urine:

Abnormal urine is one of the diagnostic criteria for patients. Generally, when a patient develops renal failure, his urine becomes like boiled water and there are no toxins in it. If after treatment the patient's urine volume increases, the color becomes darker, and the urine odor becomes stronger, it means that the kidney's detoxification function is recovering.

4. Urine volume:

It can be said that the daily urine volume of a normal person is between 400 and 1500 ml. If the kidney function is impaired, the urine volume will often decrease. For example, patients with stage II renal insufficiency will have a urine volume of less than 500 ml per day, and patients with stage IV, which is the uremia stage, may have a daily urine volume of less than 100 ml.
