What are the symptoms of urinary tract infection in men?

Sometimes, if you don't pay attention to personal hygiene, especially private hygiene, you are prone to infection. The most common one is probably urinary tract infection. The incidence of male urinary tract infection is generally much lower than that of females. Most male urinary tract infections are caused by bacterial infections. Although the incidence is low, if it is not treated in time, it is easy to induce other diseases. What are the symptoms of male urinary tract infection? Today we will explain in detail the common symptoms of male urinary tract infection.

The typical clinical symptoms of urinary tract infection are mainly the following three aspects: (1) Abnormal urination. Common abnormal urination of urinary tract infection is frequent urination, urgent urination, and painful urination. Urinary incontinence and urinary retention may also be seen. Chronic renal failure caused by chronic pyelonephritis may have polyuria in the early stage, and oliguria or anuria in the later stage. (2) Abnormal urine. Urinary tract infection can cause abnormal changes in urine, common ones include bacteriuria, purulent urine, hematuria, and pneumaturia. (3) Low back pain. Low back pain is a common clinical symptom. Kidney and kidney-related diseases are one of the common causes of low back pain.

When the renal capsule, renal pelvis, and ureter are irritated or the tension increases, it can cause pain in the lower back. Lower urinary tract infection generally does not cause low back pain. Inflammation of the kidney and perirenal region, such as renal abscess, perirenal inflammation, perirenal abscess, and acute pyelonephritis, often cause persistent severe swelling and pain in the lower back. The low back pain caused by chronic pyelonephritis is often soreness. The clinical manifestations of urinary tract infection are relatively wide. Urinary tract infection can be divided into pyelonephritis, cystitis, and urethritis according to the different sites of infection; there are complex and uncomplex urinary tract infections according to the presence or absence of urinary tract function or organic abnormalities; according to the nature of the inflammation, it can be divided into acute and chronic urinary tract infections.

However, urinary tract infection still has its common clinical manifestations: (1) Urinary tract irritation signs, namely frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, and discomfort during urination. These symptoms vary in severity in different patients. Patients with acute inflammation often have obvious urinary tract irritation signs; but in the elderly, children and patients with chronic urinary tract infection, urinary tract irritation symptoms are usually milder, such as mild frequent urination, urgent urination, or discomfort during urination. (2) Systemic poisoning symptoms, such as fever, chills, headache, etc. Mainly seen in patients with upper urinary tract infection, especially those with acute urinary tract infection and urinary tract obstruction. (3) Routine urine examination may show white blood cells, red blood cells or even protein. (4) Routine blood tests may show an increase in white blood cells.

Do you often feel a stinging pain when you urinate? Do you occasionally find blood in your urine? Is it because the weather is too dry and you get irritated, or is it a urinary tract infection that you don’t know about? With the arrival of summer, many male friends have urinary tract infections, which brings great trouble to their normal life, so everyone must pay more attention to their health.
