What should I do if my scrotum itches at night?

For some male friends, some of them may have such a symptom: at night, the scrotum will be very itchy. So, what is going on and what should be done? As the saying goes, "everything happens for a reason", every disease should have its cause, so everyone should understand the cause of this symptom, so as to treat it accordingly and achieve the purpose of curing the disease.

Scrotal itching refers to abnormal sensations such as excessive sweating, dampness or coolness without any changes on the scrotal skin surface. Because the scrotum has a certain relaxation function and there are a large number of sweat glands in its skin, it can regulate the local temperature. If the sweat secreted by the scrotum cannot be dissipated in time, the local temperature rises, and the sweat secretion increases, the scrotum will always feel damp. A scrotum with excessive sweating and dampness for a long time is prone to inflammation and unbearable vulvar itching.

Scrotal itching is a very common symptom, especially in young men. Generally speaking, there may be the following reasons:

(1) It is more common in people who do manual labor, especially in the summer, when the genitals are hot, sweaty, damp, and poorly ventilated. The scrotal skin is stained by sweat and rubbed by underwear, causing itching. Wearing tight jeans or non-absorbent, non-breathable nylon underwear can also cause this condition.

(2) Riboflavin (vitamin B2) deficiency can lead to scrotitis. The scrotum will show changes such as erythema, dryness, scaling, papules and scabs, accompanied by itching. At the same time, angular cheilitis, glossitis and oral ulcers may also occur.

(3) Scrotal inflammation caused by fungi, such as candidal scrotal inflammation and tinea cruris involving the scrotum, can cause scrotal itching.

(4) Neurodermatitis and eczema in the scrotum may cause itching.

People with scrotal itching should wear loose cotton underwear and outer pants to allow ventilation of the genitals and keep the scrotum dry. Pay attention to local hygiene and wash it every day. If the itching is obvious, do not scratch it or boil it with boiling water. If various local damages occur, you should go to the doctor for treatment.

What should men do if their scrotum itches at night? In fact, this is not a very serious disease, so you don't have to worry too much. In this case, you should pay more attention to your dressing habits, wear loose pants, and keep your scrotum dry, so that this situation will not happen.
