Causes of small testicles in men

Causes of small testicles in men

If there is an abnormality in the private parts of our body, many people are embarrassed to go to the hospital for examination, so this delays the treatment of the disease. Many men have small testicles. Although everyone's testicle size is different, small testicles are sometimes a manifestation of some male reproductive diseases. Next, we will introduce in detail some of the reasons for small male testicles.

1. Hydrocele: Some people also mistake other lesions in the scrotum for one testicle being larger than the other. For example, hydrocele is actually just a water bag around the testicle that wraps the testicle, not the enlargement of the testicle itself. Some people also mistake inguinal oblique hernia, varicocele, epididymal tuberculosis, epididymitis, etc. for enlarged testicles, because these diseases sometimes also manifest as one side of the scrotum being larger than the other side.

2. Testicular injury: Trauma to one side of the testicle can cause bleeding and hematoma in the testicle, which results in insufficient blood supply to the testicle, which gradually shrinks and becomes significantly smaller than the other side. The mumps virus can damage the epithelial cells of the seminiferous tubules in the testicle, which is also one of the important reasons for one testicle being larger than the other.

3. Congenital testicular dysplasia: This is caused by a disease called Klinefelter syndrome, which affects about one in 400 male babies. Most patients with this disease have delayed puberty, that is, after the age of 14, the testicles are still the size of a child, and the male secondary sexual characteristics are not obvious. 80% of patients may have feminine manifestations such as breast enlargement. The intellectual development of such patients may be normal or slightly delayed. Since the testicles can still secrete a certain amount of male hormones, they can still have sexual desire and sexual function, and can also have normal ejaculation, but the function of the testicles to produce sperm is impaired, and there are no sperm or very few sperm in the semen, thus losing reproductive ability.

The above contents are some reasons for small testicles in men. If you do have any of the above problems, you should go to a regular hospital for examination. Small testicles are not shameful. Although this is a more private matter, you must actively cooperate with the examination for your own health.
