Is it abnormal for a man to have no beard?

Beards are a sign of masculinity, but at the age of 18, my lips and chin are still bald, with only a few fine hairs. I always feel that I am not manly. Why do men not grow beards?

After entering puberty, the first physical sign is the enlargement of the testicles and scrotum. As the testicles gradually develop and mature, they begin to have the ability to produce sperm and testosterone. Under the action of androgens, male genitals develop rapidly, and secondary sexual characteristics appear, such as a strong body, well-developed muscles, broad shoulders and small hips, facial beards, a prominent Adam's apple, and a deep voice. Men's beards are the result of androgens. The appearance and shaping of men's beards also have a process. Only when the puberty period is over and sexual maturity is reached, and the androgen in the male body reaches the level of normal adults, will the beards increase to the appearance of adults.

The level of testosterone in healthy men is generally the same, but the size of beards varies greatly. Some men have thick beards, some have thin beards; some have sideburns, some have goatees, and these are all normal differences. The size and shape of beards are related to ethnicity and family genetics. This is normal and there is no need to worry about it.
