Symptoms of Phimosis

Symptoms of Phimosis

After a disease like phimosis occurs, many people may not know what phimosis is. In fact, the symptoms of phimosis are very obvious. When the foreskin completely covers the glans penis and cannot be turned up to the coronal sulcus of the penis after the occurrence of phimosis, it is called phimosis. After such a disease occurs, the symptoms of phimosis on the body are more serious, and we must understand it.

There are many types of symptoms of phimosis, such as some physiological foreskin diseases, which are caused by mild adhesions inside the foreskin and on the surface of the glans penis when the baby is born. This kind of situation that prevents the foreskin from turning over or forms a coronal sulcus is called physiological phimosis. It disappears naturally within two or three years after birth as the epithelial adhesion is absorbed.

True phimosis: refers to the foreskin that cannot be turned back to the coronal sulcus after the age of three. Sometimes the foreskin opening is as small as a needle tip, which hinders the development of the penis. When urinating, urine accumulates in the foreskin, causing the foreskin to swell like a ball. This type of phimosis needs to be circumcised before the age of 9, otherwise it is easy to cause balanitis and urethral stenosis. Smegma accumulation can form smegma stones, and long-term stimulation can induce cancer. Long-term dysuria can affect kidney function. Children may suffer from frequent urination and bedwetting at night.

Secondary phimosis: People with excessive foreskin may have scars formed at the foreskin opening due to trauma or infection, which results in the foreskin opening becoming narrow and unable to be turned up. This type of phimosis is called secondary phimosis and requires circumcision.

For some people who have excessively long foreskin or phimosis, the symptoms of phimosis are very serious. If such diseases are not treated in time, they may cause inflammation of the foreskin or glans. Even balanitis may occur. However, it is important to exclude diseases such as penile cancer and diabetes.
