Why do men sleep more?

Why do men sleep more?

There are several reasons why men are sleepy. Young men are sleepy, tired, dizzy, and have memory loss. The most common cause is sleep apnea syndrome. Such patients often snore at night and have sleep apnea, which causes brain hypoxia at night, making them listless and sleepy during the day. In this case, it is recommended to go to the local hospital's outpatient pediatrics for a sleep quality inhalation test for diagnosis. The most common reason for elderly people to feel sleepy is cerebral ischemia caused by cerebrovascular disease, and most of them have a history of cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage. It is recommended to go to the hospital's outpatient neurology department for treatment.

1. Poor sleep at night or too short sleep time.

2. Sleep apnea, that is, intermittent breathing during sleep.

3. Suffering from narcolepsy; narcolepsy usually occurs after puberty, and the age is generally between 15 and 25 years old. The main symptom is that you always want to sleep during the day, and the main manifestation is that you can't tell the time and place when you feel sleepy. For example, you yawn suddenly when talking to customers, and fall asleep on your side. Narcolepsy is generally not easy to cause other organic diseases. Early treatment can prevent the development of the disease.

4. Obesity: Overweight can also increase excessive sleepiness during the day;

5. Depression: It may be the key cause of excessive daytime sleepiness. Among people receiving depression treatment, the probability of feeling excessively sleepy during the day is three times the normal level.

6. Diabetes: Excessive sleepiness during the day should be excluded from diabetes. People with diabetes are more likely to feel excessive sleepiness during the day than normal people.

7. Insufficient nutrition: Insufficient nutrition can easily cause fatigue and sleepiness. Reduced energy intake will cause drowsiness, and eating more protein foods will improve the condition.

8. Hypothyroidism: Patients with hypothyroidism often experience drowsiness due to their low metabolic rate.

Normal people can get enough rest for their body and mind after getting 6-8 hours of sleep at night, and feel refreshed, energetic and clear-headed after waking up. If you still feel tired, dizzy, sleepy and even sleepy during the day after waking up, you may have two diseases. One is sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome, also known as "snoring", which is caused by frequent lack of oxygen at night, micro-awakening, fragmented sleep, and poor sleep quality. The second disease is narcolepsy, which may be accompanied by or without cataplexy. Both require polysomnography and multiple daytime sleep tests for diagnosis.
