What are the symptoms of syphilis in men?

Syphilis is a highly contagious disease, which is mainly spread through sexual intercourse. Generally, 95% of people are infected through sex. The infection is strongest in the morning when infected with syphilis, and the infection will decrease with the development of sex. Therefore, unclean sexual intercourse must be avoided. So what are the common symptoms of syphilis?

Symptom 1: Primary syphilis occurs 2 to 3 weeks after unclean sexual intercourse, mostly in the location of sexual organs, in men, on the foreskin, coronal sulcus, and frenulum of the penis. The diameter of the chancre is 1 to 2 cm, annular or oval, slightly higher than the soft skin, with slightly eroded or shallow ulcers on the surface, a small amount of secretion, bright red or dark red, painless and itchy, with cartilage-like strength when touched. Usually single, but can also be multiple. The inguinal lymph nodes or lymph nodes adjacent to the disease may swell, usually several, of different sizes, hard, non-adhesive, non-ruptured, and painless.

Symptom 2: Secondary syphilis usually occurs 8 to 12 weeks after infection. Early symptoms include influenza-like syndrome and systemic lymphadenopathy. The rash is polymorphic, including macules, papules, scaly rashes, and purulent rashes. It is often widespread and symmetrical. Dark red spots and scaly macules can be seen on the palms and soles. The rashes around the private parts and anus are mostly moist papules and flat moist warts. They are not painful or itchy. Erosion-like hair loss may occur on the head. The skin lesions of secondary syphilis are localized and the number is relatively small. Annular rashes can still be seen. Mucosal spots may occur in the mouth. Mild discomfort and superficial lymph node swelling may occur throughout the body.

Symptom three: Tertiary syphilis is also called terminal syphilis, with a history of primary or secondary syphilis, and the duration of the disease is more than 2 years. The main manifestations are nodular rash and juxtaarticular nodules, worm-like swelling of the skin, mucous membranes, and bones. The digestive tract is mostly affected by hepatic syphilis, the endocrine system is mostly affected by simple aortitis, aortic valvular insufficiency, and aortic aneurysm, and the central nervous system is mostly affected by syphilitic meningitis, spinal cord spasm, and paralytic dementia.
