The main symptom of eczema patients is itching, which makes them feel uncomfortable all over. If the condition develops seriously, even scratching cannot relieve the itching, and it may even affect sleep quality and work. Many men suffer from scrotal eczema. The diseased area is hidden and it is easy to flare up, which has a great impact on the health of many men. Let's discuss the brief introduction of scrotal eczema below. Eczema is generally divided into three stages: subacute, acute, and chronic. Acute symptoms tend to be exudative, while chronic symptoms are invasive and hypertrophic. The skin lesions are polymorphic, symmetrical, itchy, and recurrent. Scrotal eczema is characterized by itching and rashes on the scrotal skin, and pus discharge after rupture. It often occurs on the skin at the base of the thigh on the same side of the scrotum, on one or both sides, and is mostly annular or semi-annular patches. At first, a small piece of erythema appears on the inner side of the upper thigh, with scaling on it, and slowly expands and spreads to the surrounding areas, with clear boundaries, and papules, blisters, and scars on it. The central part can be cured, with pigmentation or scaling. Over time, some skin will become moist, thickened and mossy, often accompanied by itching. In severe cases, it often spreads to the inner thigh, perineum or anus, and its outer edge is often very clear. Sometimes it can also spread to the scrotum, penis, etc. The clinical symptoms of subacute scrotal eczema are itching and the rash features are as follows: 1. Millet-sized papules or small blisters may be found clustered and distributed in the scrotum, and the skin base is red. 2. Due to itching, the skin lesions such as papules, papule herpes, and blisters are scratched, and the pus continues to seep out of the body, often soaking the underwear and causing erosions. Acute scrotal eczema is a change from subacute scrotal eczema, and its main manifestations are slight thickening and slight erosion of the scrotal skin, more desquamation, little exudate, and still strong itching. Chronic scrotal eczema lasts for a long time, and continuous scratching causes the scrotal skin to become dry and thick, with deeper wrinkles and a walnut-like appearance. Thin crusts and scaling often appear, and the skin melanin increases. Scratching also causes a decrease in melanin. Because it is difficult to treat and recurring, the scrotal skin may change like edema. |
