The egg skin becomes itchy at night

The egg skin becomes itchy at night

The itching of the egg skin at night may be caused by physiological factors or pathological factors. The physiological factors are mainly caused by lack of vitamin B2 or poor ventilation of the vagina. In addition, when the underwear worn is too tight and damp, it will cause the growth of bacteria, thereby causing itching of the egg skin. The pathological factors are mainly caused by symptoms of eczema or scrotitis, and patients need to pay attention to the hygiene of the scrotum.

Causes and common diseases

1. Gentle and humid vagina

It is more common in physical laborers, especially in summer, when the genitals are hot, sweaty, humid, and poorly ventilated. The scrotal skin is stained by sweat and rubbed by underwear, causing itching. Wearing tight jeans or non-absorbent, non-breathable nylon underwear can also cause itching.

2. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) deficiency

It can lead to scrotitis. The scrotum will show changes such as erythema, dryness, scaling, papules and crusts, accompanied by itching. At the same time, angular cheilitis, glossitis and oral ulcers may also occur.

3. Inflammation

Scrotitis caused by fungi, such as candidal scrotitis and tinea cruris involving the scrotum, can cause scrotal itching.

4. Other diseases

Neurodermatitis, allergic dermatitis, scabies, eczema, etc. in the scrotal area can all cause itching.

5. Internal and external factors

People with allergic constitutions, those who are under long-term mental stress, and those who have large mood swings are prone to this disease. In addition, people with certain diseases, such as chronic digestive system diseases, gastrointestinal dysfunction, endocrine disorders, and metabolic disorders, are also prone to this disease under the influence of external factors.

Differential diagnosis

1. Scrotal swelling

It refers to the lesions of the scrotal skin and its contents (the tunica testis, epididymis and spermatic cord), or the descent of abdominal contents (ascites and viscera) into the scrotum, causing the scrotal volume to increase.

2. Scrotal eczema

Small white bumps on the scrotum may be an important symptom of scrotal eczema, the most common type of eczema, which is limited to the scrotal skin, sometimes extending to the anus, and rarely to the penis. This disease is severely itchy, the rash is polymorphic, and it is easy to relapse. It can be treated. To achieve the goal of radical cure, personal hygiene needs to be paid attention to, medication is taken regularly, and family members should be avoided from being infected.

3. Scrotal prolapse

Orchitis and epididymitis are common causes of scrotal prolapse. There is usually an acute attack of fever, acute swelling of the epididymis and testicles, and pain, which then turns into a chronic condition, followed by prolapse pain, which is sometimes mild and sometimes severe. Sometimes the patient can feel a small painful nodule in the scrotum.

Check

1. Scrotal examination

The examination of the scrotum can be performed by a specialist, mainly including scrotal imaging and cremaster reflex. Self-examination can also be done to help detect diseases at an early stage.

2. Scrotal ultrasound

There are generally two methods for scrotal ultrasound scanning:

(1) Longitudinal scanning: Use the index and thumb of the left hand to properly fix the testicle and perform a longitudinal multi-plane scan to show the ultrasound structure of the testicle, epididymis head and tail, and part of the spermatic cord.

(2) Perform a transverse scan to compare the scrotal skin, testicles, and epididymis to observe the shape, size, and internal echo of the testicles, and to observe whether there is fluid in the tunica vaginalis around the testicles and whether the echo is abnormal.

Treatment principles

1. Etiology treatment

If you are deficient in riboflavin, you can take riboflavin. If it is caused by fungi, use topical antifungal drugs.

2. Symptomatic treatment

For external use, such as ice cream, gently rub the itchy area. Generally, the itching can be eliminated two or three times, and the effect will last for a few days.
