Everyone knows that when men urinate, it is through their genitals, and when men sedate, it is also through their genitals. But in fact, urine and semen are discharged through different channels. However, the urethral opening and the semen opening are very close. If the urethral opening is infected, it is likely to affect the male's sexual function. So where is the male urethra? The urethra is a tube that leads from the bladder to the outside of the body. The male urethra is long and thin, about 18 cm long, starting from the internal urethral opening of the bladder and going up to the external urethral opening. It passes through the prostate, the membrane and the cavernous body of the penis. The male urethra has both urination and ejaculation functions. The male urethra has a sphincter composed of a circular cross-striated muscle in the membranous part of the urethra, called the external urethral sphincter, which is controlled by consciousness. The male urethra is both a urinary and sperm excretion duct. It starts from the internal urethral opening and ends at the external urethral opening at the tip of the glans penis. It is about 18 cm long in adults and can be divided into three parts: the prostatic part (the part that passes through the prostate), the membranous part (the part that passes through the urogenital diaphragm, about 1.2 cm long) and the cavernous body (the part that passes through the urethral cavernous body). Clinically, the prostatic part and the membranous part are collectively called the posterior urethra, and the cavernous body is called the anterior urethra. The male urethra has three strictures and two bends throughout its entire length. The three strictures are the internal urethral opening, the membranous part, and the external urethral opening. The two bends are located below the pubic symphysis and in front of the pubic symphysis. The male urethra is both a urinary and sperm excretion duct. It starts from the internal urethral opening and ends at the external urethral opening at the tip of the glans penis. It is about 18 cm long for adults and can be divided into three parts: the prostatic part (the part that passes through the prostate), the membranous part (the part that passes through the urogenital diaphragm, about 1.2 cm long) and the corpus cavernosum (the part that passes through the urethral corpus cavernosum). Clinically, the prostatic part and the membranous part are collectively called the posterior urethra, and the corpus cavernosum is called the anterior urethra. Urethral glands are scattered throughout the urethra, mainly concentrated in the anterior urethral corpus cavernosum, called paraurethral glands. During erection, they can be squeezed and secrete clear mucus to lubricate the surface of the urethral mucosa. In the case of chronic infection, they actually secrete sticky threads. |
