Penile glans peeling after circumcision

Penile glans peeling after circumcision

The foreskin is a part of the male genitals. It is the layer of skin that covers the glans penis. Many men have a condition called foreskin that is too long. This condition is not good for men and is very easy to breed bacteria. Therefore, circumcision is required for this condition. Circumcision is a very common surgery for cutting the foreskin. Some people experience peeling after circumcision. Is it normal for the glans penis to peel after circumcision?

It is normal for the penis to peel after surgery for phimosis. This is mainly because the skin is stimulated by certain disinfectants, and the epidermal cells will degenerate and lose their activity. Gradually, the glans will peel off, and everything will return to normal after the peeling. If this happens, the following care measures should be taken to help the wound heal as soon as possible.

There will be slight pain and bruising at the wound after the operation, which will heal in about 7 to 10 days. If the penis is erect, please protect the wound with one hand and pinch the glans with the other hand to let the erection subside naturally to avoid wound rupture. If the wound is swollen, painful and bleeding, you can apply local cold compress and pressure to stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, you should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

The phenomenon of peeling after circumcision will not affect the quality of sexual life. A large number of clinical studies have confirmed that the main sensory nerve fibers are distributed under the glans penis, which are far more than those on the foreskin. Therefore, partial circumcision does not reduce sexual sensitivity. On the contrary, the frenulum of the glans penis exposed after circumcision not only does not affect the sensitivity of sexual life, but also reduces the chronic stimulation of smegma, which is beneficial to improve the sensitivity of sexual life and thus obtain greater pleasure.
