What is the reason for the itchy white discharge from the head?

If the glans is itchy and has white discharge, it is likely that you have balanitis. If the symptoms are not serious, pay more attention to personal hygiene, develop good hygiene habits, wear cotton and breathable underwear, and change underwear frequently. Generally, the symptoms will self-regulate and gradually improve. However, if the symptoms are more serious, it is best to go to the hospital to see a doctor and take medication under the doctor's guidance.

Balanitis is the most common disease of the glans and foreskin. Almost all patients have phimosis or prepuce that is too long. Between the glans and the long foreskin, a warm and moist bacterial culture medium is formed due to the exfoliated epithelial cells, glandular secretions and smegma bacteria. Once the bacteria enter, it can cause inflammation.

In the early stage of glansitis, the glans and foreskin surface are edematous and congested, the area around the urethral opening is red, and wounds and erosions appear. It may develop into superficial ulcers, with purulent secretions flowing out. The patient will feel itching or burning in the glans penis, followed by pain. After erosion, pus may flow out with a foul odor. In severe cases, there will also be fatigue, low fever, enlarged and tender inguinal lymph nodes.

How to prevent glans inflammation

(1) Pay attention to local hygiene and clean the glans penis and foreskin every day. If the foreskin is too long, it should be treated promptly and circumcised if necessary. It is also necessary to clean the smegma in time.

(2) If one of the spouses suffers from a sexual organ disease, they should suspend sexual activity and seek timely treatment. For example, if the spouse suffers from a trichomonas infection or Candida albicans infection, both spouses should receive treatment at the same time.

(3) Avoid unclean sexual intercourse and keep yourself clean.

(4) If ulcers or erosions form, change the dressing immediately, twice a day, to avoid uncomfortable irritation.

(5) For acute balanitis, avoid using corticosteroid ointments to prevent more serious infection.

What are the causes of glansitis?

1. Male glansitis is generally related to the male foreskin being too long and the foreskin being too thick. The secretions in the foreskin are difficult to clear early, and the bacteria will proliferate and multiply in large quantities, which will lead to an increase in the secretions in the foreskin, and smegma and an unpleasant odor will appear, which can easily cause local inflammation and lead to glansitis. Glansitis can also be caused by some non-infectious factors and infectious factors.

2. Non-infectious factors, especially local trauma, friction, contraceptives, soap or other detergents, can cause male glansitis. Edema, erythema, erosion and even bleeding may occur locally. If secondary bacterial infection occurs, it may become purulent and form an ulcer. The patient has obvious pain and difficulty in moving. Clinically, it is called acute superficial glansitis.

3. If male glansitis is not treated early, it will induce urinary system diseases, the most common of which are prostatitis, urethritis and other problems. In particular, repeated attacks of glansitis will affect sexual desire, easily lead to impotence and premature ejaculation, and will also have a certain impact on the survival rate of sperm. Therefore, when you find that you have glansitis, it is crucial to receive treatment according to your own situation.
