Patients with purulent discharge from the urethra usually experience stinging pain when urinating, swollen and painful urinary opening, and constant dripping and urine retention when going to the toilet. Purulent discharge from the urethra in men is considered to be caused by inflammatory infection, which is mostly related to unclean sexual behavior. In normal times, not only should the symptoms of gonorrhea be diagnosed, but timely diagnosis should also be carried out. There is a high possibility that urethral discharge is a sexually transmitted disease! Gonorrhea, also known as gonococcal urethritis, is an acute or chronic, purulent infectious disease of the urogenital mucosa caused by gonococci directly transmitted through sexual contact. It is an ancient and common sexually transmitted disease. In recent years, the incidence rate ranks first among sexually transmitted diseases in my country, and it mostly occurs in young men and women. 1. Symptoms of gonorrhea: The earliest symptoms of gonorrhea infection are redness, swelling, itching and slight tingling at the urethral opening, followed by thin mucus discharge, causing discomfort when urinating, and manifesting in the form of acute urethritis. After 24 hours, the symptoms worsen, and the redness and swelling develop to the entire glans penis and part of the urethra. The secretion changes from thin to dark yellow pus, and frequent urination, painful urination, difficulty in urination, and difficulty in movement appear. In the evening, the penis often has painful erections. A small number of cases have symptoms of mild fever and fatigue. 2. Transmission mode of gonorrhea: mainly through sexual intercourse or other sexual behaviors. Male gonorrhea patients are almost all caused by sexual intercourse. Gonorrhea patients are the source of infection and the main mode of gonorrhea transmission. The transmission speed is fast and the infection rate is very high. The disease can occur 3-5 days after infection. It can also be indirectly transmitted through towels, foot cloths, foot basins, clothes, bedding, bedpans, medical equipment and even toilet seats contaminated by the secretions of gonorrhea patients. 3. The harm of gonorrhea: Gonorrhea is very harmful and can be transmitted to family members, especially pregnant women and children; it can cause prostatitis, balanitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, abnormal sperm production and infertility; if it is not cured for a long time, it will cause symptoms such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, impotence, premature ejaculation and neurasthenia; severe cases can be life-threatening. |
