How to treat scrotal eczema with medication?

After the symptoms of scrotal eczema appear, the patient can actually find it in time, because there will be obvious small papules in the scrotal area, and there will be signs of blisters or pus over time, and the patient will also feel severe itching and pain. It is also possible to use drugs to treat scrotal eczema, such as the common potassium permanganate solution.

1. General treatment

Since scrotal eczema is related to allergies like eczema in other parts of the body, drugs used to treat allergies can be used to treat scrotal eczema. Most of the treatments are oral antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine, phenergan, promethazine, cyproheptadine, etc., which can be used alone or in combination, and can also be used with sedatives, vitamin C, etc. The type of topical medication depends on the clinical manifestation of skin damage. For obvious redness and swelling, and a lot of exudation, a solution cold wet compress should be selected, such as potassium permanganate solution. For erythema and papules, lotions, creams, and oils can be used, such as calamine lotion. For blisters and erosions, oils should be used. For scaling and scabs, ointments should be used. For lichen-like changes, creams, ointments, creams, film-coatings, tinctures, and plasters should be used. Note that medication should be used under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Scrotal care

Avoid irritating the area again. Avoid scratching the area with your baby's hands as much as possible. Do not use hot water or soapy water to clean the area. Pay special attention not to apply strong irritating drugs or hormone drugs to the area at will, as these are very likely to make the disease worse or reoccur. Parents should change the baby's diaper frequently to keep the child's scrotum dry and clean.

3. Diet therapy

To treat scrotal eczema, you can eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and avoid or eat less spicy food. If the child is breastfeeding, the mother should avoid eating some irritating foods, such as onions, ginger, garlic, strong tea, coffee, alcohol, and other foods that are easy to cause allergies, such as fish, shrimp and other seafood.
