Is it a problem if the penis bends downward when erect?

Many male friends' penises bend downward when erect, or bend to the left or right. The degree of curvature varies from person to person, so some people have severe curvature while others have no obvious curvature. There is no big problem with the penis bending downward when erect, so there is no need to worry too much. So today I will share with you why the penis bends downward when erect.

There is no need to worry too much about the penis bending downward during erection. In sexual psychology consultation, it is not uncommon to see men who are troubled by penis curvature. In fact, most of them have physiological curvature. The penis is composed of three parallel long columnar corpora cavernosa. The two parallel ones on the back are called penile corpora cavernosa, and the other one on the ventral side, through which the urethra passes, is called urethral corpora cavernosa. Normally the penis is in a flaccid state. When sexually excited, the sinus vascular muscles in the cavernous body tissue relax, and a large amount of blood flows into the sinus cavernosum. When the flow reaches a certain level, the elastic white membrane covering the outside of the cavernous body of the penis will expand fully. The expanded state is like a hard columnar body like a fully inflated ball, and supports the penis to stand upright.

The key is the elastic fibers between the two corpora cavernosa of the penis. When they are pulled to the extreme, the penis is fully erect. Because the corpora cavernosa of the urethra is engorged and dilated accordingly, the penis is usually slightly bent downward when erect, and only becomes hard and straight after full erection. However, under normal conditions, the penis is not fully erect. It is only in the brief few seconds before reaching orgasm that it will be fully erect. A slight bend or twist is also within the normal range. Of course, there are also very few cases of pathological bends.

According to medical statistics, two-thirds of adult males have varying degrees of curvature in their penis when erect. On the contrary, only about 30% of men are in a completely erect state. The directions of the curvature vary, some bend upward, some bend downward, some bend to the left, some bend to the right, and some bend both upward or downward and to the left or right. The curvature may be at the front, middle or back end of the penis.
