What is Chlamydial Urethritis in Men?

With the progress of the times, the living conditions of modern people are getting better and better, but the health index is getting lower and lower, and new diseases are increasing, which have brought considerable troubles to modern people. For example, chlamydia urethritis, what harm can it cause to the human body?

What is Chlamydial Urethritis in Men?

The incubation period of this disease is longer than that of gonorrhea, about 1-3 weeks or several months. The main symptoms are discomfort, stinging and burning sensation in the urethra, accompanied by varying degrees of urinary frequency, urgency and pain. The pain of urination is milder than that of gonorrhea. The urethral opening is slightly red and swollen with serous or mucopurulent secretions, which are thin and small in amount. If the patient does not urinate for a long time or before the first urination in the morning, the urethral opening secretions may contaminate the underwear, and the urethral opening may have a "mud mouth" phenomenon. When the secretion is small, a small amount of mucus will flow out of the urethra after squeezing the urethra in the morning. When combined with cystitis, there may be hematuria; in asymptomatic non-gonococcal urethritis, about 30-40% of patients have atypical symptoms or no symptoms at all. About 1/3 of patients with gonococcal urethritis are infected with Chlamydia trachomatis. After treatment of gonorrhea, symptoms of urethritis appear again, which is easy to be misdiagnosed as chronic gonorrhea or infection with penicillin-resistant gonococcal strains.

What are the symptoms of Chlamydia trachomatis infection?

Chlamydia trachomatis infection is prone to complications such as epididymitis, which is characterized by enlargement, hardening and tenderness of the epididymis, mostly unilateral; testicular involvement may cause orchitis, which is characterized by testicular pain, tenderness, scrotal edema and hardening and thickening of the vas deferens; when the prostate is involved, there may be dull pain or tenderness in the posterior urethra, perineum and anus, and sexual dysfunction. If the prostate is significantly enlarged, it may compress the posterior urethra and cause thinning of the urine flow, weak urination and interrupted urine flow.
