Don’t be afraid, frequent urination is not necessarily a disease!
Pyelonephritis xt-indent: 2em; text-align: left;">Frequent urination is not a serious disease, but it does bother many people. For example, when you are sleeping soundly at night, you are woken up by the urge to urinate, which is really painful. When you are attending an important meeting or exam, it makes you restless... When you encounter similar situations, you are in great distress and are too embarrassed to say it out loud. So what exactly causes frequent urination?

Frequent urination is not necessarily a disease

Summer is here, people like to drink a lot of water, eat watermelon, and drink beer. As the amount of water intake increases, the kidney regulates and filters, the urine volume increases, the urination frequency also increases, and frequent urination occurs. In fact, this kind of frequent urination is not a disease, but physiological frequent urination. In addition, emotional changes such as tension and excitement can also lead to frequent urination; during pregnancy, the uterus continues to grow, which will press on the bladder, causing frequent urination in pregnant women; the diuretic components of certain drugs can also cause physiological frequent urination.

Therefore, when frequent urination occurs, we must first determine whether it is physiological frequent urination caused by recent changes in diet and lifestyle habits. If so, we don’t need to be nervous. When the above situations are excluded, we should consider whether the frequent urination is caused by certain diseases.

Beware of frequent urination

Normal adults urinate an average of 4-6 times during the day and 0-2 times after going to bed at night; infants urinate 20-30 times during the day and night. If the frequency of urination increases significantly and exceeds the above range, it is frequent urination. When you are tortured by frequent urination, you must find the cause to avoid ignoring some diseases and delaying treatment. First, it is caused by inflammatory stimulation. Cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, chronic penile capitis in children, vulvitis and other inflammatory stimulations can cause frequent urination, sometimes accompanied by urinary pain. Therefore, if you have frequent urination, you should first consider whether you have inflammation. Secondly, the bladder capacity becomes smaller. If the bladder capacity becomes smaller, it may be bladder stones, which require a detailed examination. Finally, other diseases. If you are always thirsty and always want to drink water, it is natural to urinate frequently, but you should also consider whether you have diabetes? Because diabetes will make people always feel like drinking water. Or patients with diabetes insipidus will also urinate frequently, which needs to be taken seriously.

Don't hold your urine if you urinate frequently

When you have frequent urination, you always feel embarrassed and find excuses for yourself, "I ate too much salt today, drank too much water, and always have to go to the toilet!" But going to the toilet is a big problem. Don't hold your urine intentionally because you are embarrassed or afraid of trouble, because holding your urine can lead to some diseases:

1. Difficult urination. If you hold your urine for a certain period of time, you will find that urination is very difficult, and you may even be unable to urinate for a short period of time. This is because holding your urine weakens the bladder's contraction function and can also cause incomplete urination.

2. Nephritis. Because urination is the "work" of the kidneys, and if this "work" is not completed in time, it will have to continue to absorb bacteria in the urine, causing nephritis.

3. Urinary stones. When urine stays in the bladder for a long time, crystals will slowly precipitate out, thus forming urinary stones.

4. Mental tension. Holding urine will make you nervous, which will increase the fear of urinating next time, thus causing frequent urination. And mental tension is also very dangerous for patients with high blood pressure.

5. Holding urine may cause infertility in women. Holding urine is particularly harmful to women. Because the bladder and uterus are close together, the enlarged bladder will push the uterus to the back when women hold urine, causing the uterus to tilt backwards and making it difficult to conceive. In addition, if the bladder blocks the menstrual blood from flowing out of the uterus, it will also cause dysmenorrhea.

6. Cause bladder cancer. The toxins in urine are constantly absorbed by the bladder, which can cause bladder cancer. This is the worst consequence of holding urine. Therefore, don't think of holding urine to relieve frequent urination. The harm of holding urine is really not to be underestimated.
