Can you still grow taller after your voice changes? Will your growth rate slow down?

It is said that we should not let our children lose at the starting line. In particular, height is not only related to genetic factors, but also closely related to acquired diet. Many parents are worried that their children's voices will start to change at a young age. Will this affect their height growth in the future?

Voice change does not affect height growth

Boys' bone age: Voice changes, armpit hair, beard, and prominent Adam's apple appear around the 9th month after the age of 13.

Growth stop period: bone age 18.4 years old, generally 13.9-year-old boys are over 1.55 meters. Boys have a growth spurt between 11 and 13 years old, and then the annual growth rate decreases rapidly, and basically stops at 18 years old.

●Growth spurt

10-16 years old is the growth period of children. They grow taller obviously, and the need for calcium ions is particularly high at this time. Experts have found that for every 30,000 mg of calcium ions absorbed by children at this stage, their height can increase by 1 cm. However, the calcium ion content on the daily dining table of ordinary families is less than 50% of what teenagers need. Different families have different calcium ion nutrition. In this way, the height of children has quietly widened the gap.

●The final sprint to grow taller

For males aged 17-26 and females aged 16-25, this is the final sprint stage for height growth. Studies have found that the epiphyseal cartilage of adolescents has not yet truly healed at this stage, and there is still a potential for 2-3 cm of growth each year. At this stage, reasonable and effective treatment and adequate calcium nutrition are still very important. Giving up efforts too early is really a waste.

During the period of voice change, we should pay attention to strengthening children's exercise and nutrition. Boys generally stop growing at the age of 19.
