What causes left testicle swelling and pain?

The testicles are a symbol of masculinity. If there is a problem here, male friends often feel very distressed and worried. Some people even panic, worrying that their masculinity will be lost due to the disease. Recently, many people have consulted about the swelling and pain in their left testicles. So, what causes the swelling and pain in the testicles? Is it serious?

1. Orchitis

The pain under orchitis is manifested as swelling or heaviness of the testicle on the affected side, pulling pain in the lower abdomen and groin, and worsens when standing or walking. When the inflammation is large, both the epididymis and testicles are swollen. The pain is very obvious when touched.

2. Testicular Twist

Testicular torsion is one of the common acute diseases in the scrotum. 65% of cases occur in 12-19 years old. Generally, there is vigorous activity a few hours before the onset of the disease, or the testicles have been subjected to external force. Severe testicular pain occurs suddenly during sleep or rest.

3. Testicular damage

The testicles are more mobile in the scrotum and are protected by a tough white membrane, so the chance of closure injury is relatively small. Testicular injuries are mostly related to violence, car accidents, etc. After injury, the testicles are severely painful, nausea, vomiting, and even fainting or shock. During physical examination, there is testicular swelling, unclear contours, or scrotal congestion, and obvious tenderness.

4. Testicular ischemia

Testicular ischemic pain is more common in the elderly. The pain is more severe, aggravated by activity, and relieved by rest. Prostatic fluid microscopy is normal. It is often caused by sclerosis of the testicular artery leading to arterial stenosis. At this time, you must go to a regular urology hospital for treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease and causing serious consequences.

No matter what causes testicular swelling and pain, it means that there is a problem with the body and you should seek medical attention immediately. Don't be embarrassed to see a doctor just because you have a disease in your private parts. Don't wait until the disease becomes too serious to be delayed. At this time, the delay may lead to more serious consequences.
