What are the symptoms of male condyloma acuminatum?

Condyloma acuminatum is very harmful. If a patient is infected with condyloma acuminatum, it will bring great trouble and harm to his health and life. Condyloma acuminatum also exists in male condyloma acuminatum. Male condyloma acuminatum is more common in sexually active young and middle-aged men. Since many male friends are unfamiliar with the symptoms of male condyloma acuminatum and do not understand them, they delay the disease and treatment. In response to this phenomenon, we will explain to you what are the symptoms of male condyloma acuminatum?

This disease is usually asymptomatic, but some patients may experience local pain or itching. Occasionally, it may transform into squamous cell carcinoma. Male patients may complain of itching, bleeding after friction, and a foul odor after secondary infection of large warts.

Common clinical lesions include papules, keratotic plaques, papillary or cauliflower-like growths, which are scattered or fused, and the same patient often has multiple manifestations. The color ranges from pink to grayish white, depending on the filling state of the capillaries in a single papilla. They vary in size, are distributed singly or in clusters, and are mostly soft in texture and prone to erosive exudate, and are prone to bleeding when touched. The common sites are the coronal sulcus, foreskin, glans, frenulum, urethral orifice, penile body, perianal area and scrotum. There is often a pedicle at the root, and purulent secretions often accumulate between the cracks of skin damage, causing a foul odor, and secondary infection is often caused by scratching. Due to continuous local moisture and chronic stimulation, they often grow rapidly.

Because male condyloma acuminatum has abundant blood vessels and bleeds easily, some patients often come to the hospital for treatment due to blood in the urine after sexual intercourse or after exertion. Generally, there are no subjective symptoms such as pain.

Condyloma acuminatum in the urethra is usually asymptomatic, but friable lesions may cause hematuria, and large warts may cause urinary tract obstruction.

Condyloma acuminatum occurring in the anus is more likely to be confused with hemorrhoids and often occurs multiple times. Initially, there are mostly papules, and later the warts grow in a swollen shape, which may be large cauliflower-like with a pedicle, or more often flat plaques with small nipples on the surface. Due to secondary infection, the secretion often has an unpleasant odor. In some cases, the lesions may appear in the mucosal epithelium of the anus. If it occurs in the perianal area, it is important to inquire whether there is a history of homosexuality or anal sex.

Papillary or cauliflower warts mainly occur in moist areas, such as the foreskin cavity, urethral orifice, and perianal area. Round papular warts mainly occur in dry areas, such as the penis shaft and hairy perineum, and can be skin-colored or pigmented. Flat keratotic plaque warts are pedunculate, with a rough surface, slightly higher than the skin surface, and with varying degrees of pigmentation.

Giant condyloma is a special form of condyloma, which can be the size of a fist and has a cauliflower-like surface. Due to secondary infection, the secretion often has an unpleasant odor. It is common in the foreskin mucosa and glans of male condyloma. Giant condyloma is actually a wart-like carcinoma. The pathology is a change of low-grade squamous cell carcinoma. Although it rarely metastasizes, the damage can penetrate deep into the body.

Knowing the symptoms of male genital warts, we will not be confused about the changes in our own bodies. We can judge whether we have male genital warts based on the symptoms. If male friends do not want to suffer from this disease, they must take precautions. As the saying goes, prevention is better than anything else. We must also know how to keep ourselves clean and not share underwear, bathtubs and other personal items with others. Of course, not having extramarital sex is the best way to prevent genital warts.
