Semen bacterial culture is mainly to detect the types of bacteria in semen. Intestinal pathogen detection can assist in the analysis of prostatitis, can confirm the pathogens of infection and their drug sensitivity, specifically guide clinical treatment, and can also evaluate the treatment effect and serve as one of the criteria for recovery. At present, the key to diagnosing bacterial prostatitis is to carry out precise positioning of bacteria based on the four-cup test method. However, due to the complicated and time-consuming and expensive testing method, there are many positive and false negative results. The value of using it to predict the treatment effect is not great. In addition, many patients with prostatitis are of non-bacterial type, so the value of semen bacterial culture is not great. At present, most cases of prostatitis are caused by careless diet and work and rest in daily life. As long as Chinese herbal medicine is used for symptomatic treatment and conditioning, it can generally be cured. Unsuitable groups: Patients with damaged urethral opening are not suitable for immediate semen collection. Precautions before testing: (1) Semen collection should be done after abstaining from sex for more than 5 days. Otherwise, it will affect the test results. (2) It is advisable to stop using antibiotics before specimen collection. Because, after entering the body, antibiotics can reach every tissue and organ of the body in a short period of time, and even inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria and other microorganisms in the specimen collection in the culture medium, resulting in false negative results and misdiagnosis of some pathogens. Therefore, when patients seek medical treatment, if they have been treated with antibiotics, whether it is for the treatment of prostatitis or for the treatment of other organ infections, they should generally stop taking the medicine for 3 days before collecting urine, semen and other specimens, as well as routine examination and isolation of pathogens. Of course, in some special cases, such as acute prostatitis or when waiting is not possible due to other special reasons, there is no need to worry about this. (3) Long foreskin can cause virility. Because there are often various bacteria or other microorganisms in the urethral opening, urethral mucosa and genital skin of normal male urethra or prostatitis patients, the collected semen and other specimens can often be contaminated by the microorganisms existing on the surface of the genitals. The microorganisms collected from the environmentally contaminated specimens can cause the semen and other specimens that were originally sterile to have a positive result, making people mistakenly believe that the patient's prostate or other organs of the urinary system are infected or even seriously infected. Therefore, before collecting specimens, be sure to clean the vulva and check whether the foreskin is too long and whether there is any infection. (4) The reproductive organs should be carefully cleaned before collecting semen samples. |
