Testicular traction surgery

Testicular traction surgery

Testicular traction surgery is a treatment for testicular sagging, which can lead to a decrease in sperm secretion from the testicles. Therefore, when men have testicular sagging, they should use the correct method to stretch the skin. Before the testicular traction surgery, anesthesia is required, the skin of the genitals must be cleaned, and the testicles must be fixed to correct the problem of testicular sagging. You can learn about the specific surgical methods.

Anesthesia and preoperative preparation

1. Anesthesia method

Neuraxial anesthesia, continuous epidural block anesthesia, or local infiltration anesthesia. Children use general anesthesia.

2. Preoperative preparation

Shave pubic hair and clean perineum skin one day before surgery.

Indications

1.Unilateral cryptorchidism in children.

2. Children with bilateral cryptic testis whose testicles have not decreased after treatment with human chorionic gonadotropin.

3. For adults with cryptorchidism, orchiopexy can generally still be performed. If unilateral cryptorchidism occurs and the testicle on that side is severely atrophied, orchiectomy should be performed to prevent testicular malignancy.

4. Ectopic testicles, wandering testicles or cryptic testicles with inguinal hernia.

5. Traumatic testicular prolapse, unsuccessful manipulation.

Surgical procedures

1. Make an oblique inguinal incision.

2. Expose the testicles.

3. Loosen the spermatic cord.

4. Close the processus vaginalis.

5. Enlarge the scrotum.

6. Fix the testicles.

7. Retract the testicle and close the incision.

Postoperative complications

Bleeding, infection, testicular atrophy, testicular retraction.

Postoperative Care

Observe the wound for bleeding or exudation, and keep the surgical site clean and all the tubes unobstructed and fixed. On the first day after surgery, the patient should mainly lie in a semi-recumbent position and do bedside activities; on the second day, do bedside activities. The pain will gradually decrease after surgery. Aspirin-like drugs will aggravate wound bleeding and should be used as little as possible. Strictly follow the doctor's instructions to take medication and return for follow-up visits on time.
